Philippines Project: Rescuing Children from Sex Trade
Besides Kenya, Ed White and i5 Church members from Annapolis have visited and support the Philippines Child Rescue Home, a place of healing and hope for rescued girls who have been trafficked and abused in horrific ways.
The sex trade in the Philippines is tantamount to modern day slavery and the worst sort of abuse.
1. UNICEF estimates as many as 100,000 children in the Philippines are involved in prostitution rings, including online pornography, which is rapidly growing.
2. “Sex tourism” is a growing illicit industry, and there is a high incidence of child prostitution in tourist areas.
3. Trafficked victims are often promised jobs that will help their families, and impoverished children, girls especially, desperate to have adequate amounts of food and other necessities, fall prey to traffickers.
Please help these children with sustenance and provide a sense of security for these young girls.
