Food pantry organizations lend a helping hand

Food pantry organizations lend a helping hand

Since the coronavirus pandemic, food banks and pantries across Maryland have been put into overdrive. The state is currently home to more than 1.5 million people who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Despite being one of the wealthiest states in the nation, Maryland’s communities are deeply impacted by food insecurity from the COVID-19 pandemic. People from all walks of life are in need of food assistance:

  • Children who generally get their meals at school

  • Homebound seniors unable to shop or have no money to do so

  • Working parents who have lost their jobs, are furloughed or already live paycheck to paycheck

This translates to thousands of struggling Marylanders relying on food banks, food pantries and other forms of assistance to meet their basic needs.

Let’s help our neighbors through this crisis.
